Creativity is taking known elements and putting them together in unique ways“

Through our vast network of contacts and collaborators, A Body of Work has sourced some truly amazing motion assessment equipment.

Our instrumented treadmill looks like a treadmill but, by virtue of its forceplate technology, high-speed motion capture cameras, virtual reality movement retraining system, assistance and resistance banding, uphill and downhill functionality…. it is much more than a treadmill.

Through a combination of technologies, h/p/cosmos and zebris have developed this amazing Rehawalk® treadmill system. This was initially designed for rehabilitative strategies of neurological, orthopaedic and geriatric conditions. With the vastness of his osteopathic experience, as with most things, Jeff looked differently at this technology, searching for a way to hack the brain. With ever-changing pain science and musculoskeletal research heading in neural directions, this equipment has enabled our Osteopaths and Chiropractors to measure, assess and treat in a truly unique fashion.

With the help of our colleagues at Phoenix Recovery, we have now embedded an AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® into our Gait Lab at Brookvale.

AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmills® use innovative Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology that enables unprecedented partial weight bearing therapy and training capabilities. A pressurised “anti-gravity” chamber counteracts gravitational forces, gently adjusting body weight from 100% down to as low as 20% with unparalleled precision. This uniform lifting force reduces impact, pain, and effort. All while supporting normal gait and balance – and encouraging full, free range of motion and natural movement.

AlterG Let’s call it fire-power. With the years of experience between our Gait Lab practitioners, we find ourselves in a very unique position, unrivaled in this medical exercise space. The ability to assess, measure, diagnose and treat on both of these iconic pieces of technology has immediately elevated our treatment outcomes.

This new style of patient management incorporates real-time treatment on the treadmills and on the table. Sometimes combined with stability challenging exercises, and possibly weights, for neuromuscular integration and long-term benefits.

To further elevate the benefits of this technology, Kinetic Sports Science have partnered with us providing exoskeleton compression vests and sleeves for patients to wear either standing, walking or running whilst undergoing an assessment by the Gait Lab practitioner. The Lila Exogen compression garments have the capacity to attach articulated weights. Instead of holding the weights, you wear the load. The strategically placed weights have an activating effect on your postural groups. Brilliantly simplistic, the changes in your posture are amazing. Exogen provides a better solution for resistance training and vocational and lifestyle activity.
